Role Title:Head of Department Stores (Retail Payments)

JOB DESCRIPTION

My client is a leaing Payments Company, offering a range of services that help merchants maximise their business with foreign customers.

Nature and aim of position

The holder of this position is responsible for managing and developing an assigned client portfolio across some of the UK's most iconic and well-known department stores. Hugely demanding and operating in a competitive global market, our clients in this space require an exceptional individual to build relationships, develop existing & future business and manage them on a day to day basis. You will be managing a range of Company Products and Services.

Your primary contacts within clients will all be senior stakeholders and will mainly range from the CEO, MD, Store Director, International Director, Store Manager level.

You will personally own & manage a small number of very significant clients and will have one person who holds the relationships with the remaining clients in this sector (although still iconic brands in their own right).

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Personal ownership of small portfolio of key clients with very significant revenue
  • Manage one Department Store Key Account Executive who manages rest of portfolio
  • Manage Company 'implant' staff in key clients
  • Commercial account management driving client & Company objectives:
  • Delivery of sales targets
  • Cross sell company products to existing accounts

o Working with finance and legal team to carry out commercial and contractual negotiations with accounts

o Develop Key Account plans and ensure plans are up to date, objectives are well specified and measurable, objectives and actions promote long term relationships with accounts

o Working collaboratively with accounts to create long term strategic roadmap relationships (both commercial and product related).

o Network within clients' senior teams in order to establish matrix of contacts in order to secure existing & future business.

o Improve clients' knowledge and expertise with company services

o Maintain working knowledge of competitors and industry trends activity to ensure company remains competitive in all aspects of the market

o Accurate use of our 'CRM' system to plan, record and report account specific activity

o Ensure that all relative market and business information is transmitted to the organization in an updated, qualified and transparent way

Work with sell-out field services team to coordinate and deliver store level objective, this includes & not limited to:

  • Managing Director, IT Director, Sales Managers, Marketing Manager, Global Marketing Team, Global Trade Marketing Team, Partner Relationship Manager

Essential Requirements:

?? Must have been either Head of Luxury Retail Department Stores, or worked in Key Account Management within previous roles.

- Should have significant experience ideally either within the FMCG, Retail or Financial Services (but this is not mandatory)

-Must be strong within account planning, client focussed and commercial accumen.

?? Strong interpersonal & verbal skills, an excellent communicator and presenter

?? You will be incredibly strong commercially and able to demonstrate success in winning, keeping & renegotiating business with major clients who have complex needs.

?? The ability to learn on a steep learning curve.

?? Resilience, drive and enthusiasm and able to use your own initiative.

?? High standard of personal presentation

?? The skills to build and maintain strong customer relationships with an ability to grasp customers' current and potential needs.

?? Good use of time management skills, can demonstrate ability to prioritize

?? Results-orientated with a proven track record of achieving targets.

?? Good organizational skills with the ability to work for periods unsupervised.

?? PC Literate. Competent user of Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications.

Fundamentally, you will be someone who is at Sales Director level or knocking on the door. You relish working with challenging but rewarding clients, building exceptionally strong long-term relationships and leading from the front.

This is not for the faint-hearted. You will need to be very flexible with your time and sometimes be prepared to give up personal time in order to meet a client's demands. After all, these clients operate at the top of the UK market and they don't accept anything less from us.
