Responsible for managing, retaining and growing a portfolio of Issuing clients. The key objective is to own the client relationship becoming a single point of contact, building strong relationships that will enable long-term client retention & growth in revenue from issuing clients.

The Account Manager is the first point of contact for issuing clients, ensuring that the performance of their account is in line with/ahead of client expectations. Where possible the Account Manager must identify and progress cross and upsell opportunities in a timely manner to ensure that agreed objectives are met. The Account Manager must manage all queries coming into the business in relation to their accounts and own this process until it is concluded satisfactorily. This is a demanding role and is a key part of the UK & European Card Solutions Issuing team. The role holder will work closely with Issuing Sales, Issuing Operations, Risk / Compliance and Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide superior and professional service to an allocated book of Issuing clients.
• Enhance issuing client engagement, maximise revenue and retention
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the clients organisation – maintain regular contact by a combination of emails, telephone calls and face to face meetings
• Provide support for issuing clients – maintaining and updating an accurate contact log ensuring all issues are logged, briefed to the relevant department and followed through to the successful completion.
• Responsibility to raise and manage issues and concerns relating to managed accounts on a daily basis to operations, risk / compliance, acquiring support and finance
• Display a strong understanding of each client’s business model and effectively promote and sell our payments’ solutions in order to grow existing portfolio and help issuing clients to optimise their payments activities
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to drive new revenue opportunities.
• Provide effective Sales Support to the Issuing team.
• Reach specified targets within assigned accounts through effective leadership, consultative support, relationship building and strategic partnering in order to contribute to the attainment of the Company’s sales goals and to avoid account attrition
• Work closely with finance to monitor the debt position of accounts and help to make ensure that client accounts are kept up to date and all issues relating are logged and followed through
• Continue to develop knowledge within the prepaid / payments space through internal and external training – working towards becoming an expert in the field
• Reach revenue targets within assigned accounts through effective leadership, consultative support, relationship building and strategic partnering in order to contribute to the attainment of the Company’s sales goals and to avoid account attrition
• Convey clear information at all times to clients regarding ongoing issues, pricing and fee structures, industry rules and regulations, security and compliance matters, product information and project progress.
• Communicate daily with Management to discuss progress with issues, new business opportunities and appropriate sales tactics, and actively participate in regular sales meetings.
• Arrange and attend regular account reviews and meetings, ensuring adequate client contact is maintained and all issues are identified and addressed and relationships built and strengthened
• Wherever possible obtain PR, references and case studies from existing book of clients
• Other tasks as required by the Management team

Skills and Qualifications:

• Highly customer focused with experience of the payments industry is crucial to the role
• Solid experience supporting clients within the issuing / prepaid market and proven track record in growing an existing business portfolio and in achieving and exceeding established revenue targets
• Highly organized with the ability to manage issues successfully from start to completion working with multiple internal departments
• Commercially aware with able to think strategically and spot new opportunities
• Confident presentation style
• Comfortable with multi-tasking and capable of handling a high workload against tight deadlines
• Fluent communicator and ability to adjust their written and spoken style to the audience
• Technical/problem solving skills
• Ability to work as part of a very fast paced company/team as well as autonomously
