My Thame based client has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analytics Manager to join their successful company.

The ideal Business Analytics Manager will have the capability to translate data into insight that drives action, and will also be able to confidently present this insight in a compelling and logical way to external customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understanding and applying an ROI model;
  • Spotting anomalies and trends in data and information, and then discovering the reasons behind them and translating this information into action;
  • Drawing conclusions, risks and opportunities from various sources of information;
  • Communicating conclusions and recommendations in a simple and useful way;
  • Turning concepts into plans and briefs;
  • Resolving problems;
  • Reviewing an extensive range of data sources such as field activity data, EPOS data, market data and ROI data in order to identify trends;
  • Recommending short, medium and long term action plans in order to improve results and ROI.

Business Analytics Manager - Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience of working in a data insights role with a field sales or national accounts team;
  • Extensive knowledge of the UK grocery and high street retail markets;
  • Ability to communicate at all levels face to face, phone and writing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Able to express ideas and views clearly and concisely and present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner;
  • Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development;
  • Understanding of XML and SQL;
  • Proficient (advanced level) in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

It is also desirable that the Business Analytics Manager will have experience of using SAP, SPSS or other statistical packages for analysing large datasets; Programming skills; Adept at queries and report writing; Knowledge of statistics and ability to communicate with statisticians; Experience in data mining techniques and procedures; Live within a commutable distance of Thame and Weybridge.

Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service.

Salary £40K basic with £6K car allowance.
