Ecommerce/Digital Architect - Central London - Large retailer

The Ecommerce Architect needs to be a truetechnologist that loves architecting, designing and building E-commerce/omni-channel solutions that span our online and offline digital offering.

The company have recently embarked on a 4-year programme to replace the Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Logistics systems

Their mission is to deliver an industry leading multi-channel supply chain system to enable the global expansion strategy.


RETAIL Experience

Deep understanding of how to exploit digital components inside a physical sore such as POS, digital signage, beacons, RFID, interactive screens, magic mirrors, AR etc.

Understands how to achieve single view of customer & stock, omni-channel, click&collect, digital clientelling and mobile payments.

Experience of Managed API solutions, IBM WebSphere, Oracle Retail Solutions and other enterprise grade systems.

Experience of custom coded solutions in Node, Angular, React, Docker, AWS, Java, SQL.

Support the Software Engineering community in developing and communicating good industry recognised architectural concepts and standards.

Work closely with agile, cross functional teams to help them ensure that separation of concern guidelines are adhered to.

Own the Digital architecture roadmap, API's and service to service contracts along with the micro-services dependency map.

Perform architectural spikes to reduce technical risk and showcase new architecture via working code.

Create and maintain a simple set of abstraction artefacts that the engineering teams can use to communicate with.

Promote good architecture and software engineering practices (eg BDD, TDD, performance in design, self-healing solutions, S.O.L.I.D).

Maintain a keen eye on new technologies and innovation in the technology industry and leveraging these to benefit the organization.

Maintain and improve development methodologies and best practice.

Maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging developments and trends in related technology arenas that could impact current projects and influence new projects.

Create technology architectures and options that align to the IT Roadmap, ensuring any deviations are agreed with the architecture review board.
