About The Role

UK Greetings Limited is the market leader in the greetings card industry. Our business operates in a competitive retail arena where the retail landscape is changing. This exciting new role will be integral to UKG winning and growing in the emerging ecommerce channel.

We are currently looking for an Ecommerce Trading & Merchandising Manager to be based in Dewsbury to join the newly formed Ecommerce team. This high profile role is pivotal in the future development and growth of greetings cards within this channel. You will manage the ecommerce category for UKG and our customers and will be essential in helping to develop and implement the ecommerce strategy;

  • Developing UKG's ecommerce platform.
  • Working with existing customers to develop online business solutions and assortments.

  • Prospecting new customers, identifying opportunities to drive incremental sales and growth for the business

  • Working closely with the Product Development Director you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Creative, ISD, Inventory Control, Category Management and Insight, Operations & Distribution.

The role involves developing range architecture, managing the product assortment and pricing. Presenting range proposals internally & externally. Planning and evaluating of trading activity, analysis of sales and competitor information to drive ranging decisions to ensure optimum range offered at all times. Associated administration and scoping ways to automate/improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate will need to possess the following skills and experience:

Ecommerce Trading experience essential. Retail merchandising/buying experience desirable.

  • A solid knowledge of web analytic tools like Google Analytics, adobe. Experience of common CMS platforms to update customer facing websites and online optimisation tools.

  • Proficient with amazon and SEM/SEO strategies.

  • Greetings card experience desirable but not essential.

  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to proactively lead projects.

  • Experience/ interest in consumer insights/shopper behaviour.

  • Strong communicator with confident presentation skills as the role will be customer facing. Able to articulate yourself with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work at a senior level, both internally and externally.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Proven people management skills and experience.

  • Highly numeric with advanced excel and analytical skills.

  • Remain at forefront of knowledge on new marketing technologies.

  • An understanding of product lifecycle to ensure enhanced productivity but reduced obsolescence.

Educated to degree level in a Marketing/Business/Ecommerce related discipline, you'll be a highly organised and self-motivated individual who thrives in a varied and challenging role. You'll have proven experience in launching product into the online market. There will be a requirement to travel for customer meetings.
