Position: Group Head, Marketing and Customer Advocacy
Reports to: Group CEO
Job Summary: This challenging role will champion the development of strategic brand direction and consistent presentation of the Group’s brands including responsibility for the development of all product marketing initiatives.
The individual in this role will also promote and support the Group’s focus on deepening customer relationships, proactively ensuring that customer needs are identified and addressed to enable a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the Group’s marketing strategy across all segments and markets including processes to execute the brand vision, ensuring that brand content and image creation optimizes current brand opportunities consistent with the Group’s values
• Demonstrate ownership of and communicate the business group’s strategic direction and objectives to all staff and ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the Interswitch Group
• Provide leadership for the development of the business group work plan and programmes and drive the implementation of same, both from a process standpoint and achieving acceptable business results
• Oversee the design and implementation of marketing activities/ plans that ensure the effective maximization of the Group’s market potential and ultimately the strategic positioning of the brand
• Develop framework for identifying target markets and market potential for sales promotions/campaigns, based on relevant customer data and market trends
• Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including media, public relations, brand agencies and coordinate all internal, external and public corporate communications activities
• Champion the development and implementation of a customer advocacy management framework across the Group and ensure robust customer support data management and analysis to deepen customer satisfaction and loyalty
• Liaise with business heads to discuss and gather customer feedback issues and concerns to acquire a better understanding of their needs and provide bespoke solutions to improve customer service standards
Education and Experience
• First degree in Marketing, Business Administration or any related discipline
• Post graduate degree (MBA or Masters in Marketing) will be an added advantage
• Substantial experience at senior manager level developing comprehensive marketing, sales and client services strategies
• Sound awareness and understanding of trends and recent developments in the global & local electronic payments industry
• Strong knowledge and understanding of market/customer segmentation, key account management, service delivery, customer relationship management (CRM) and retention concepts, principles and trends
• Demonstrated record of superior business and personal performance in a high growth, creative organization and record of success developing high quality content
• Awareness of and sensibility to African culture
• Excellent network of payment industry contacts
