broad and commercially focused manner, ensuring operational quality across a broad range of

regulatory activities raised by the Board, internal stakeholders, introducers to the company and


The Client-

An International digital banking and payment services leader with HQ in London. The group includes two regulated entities - one providing services in the UK and the other covering Continental European markets.

The role-

  • Ensure the company operates and respects the relevant regulations such as PSD2, GDPR and various financial crime regulations
  • Anticipate changes and adopt a proactive approach in regards to keeping the company up to date in terms of regulatory preparedness and ownership of policies and procedures
  • Assume responsibility of running the day to day AML activities including management of AML operational staff
  • Prepare the business to be in line with all relevant legislation
  • Manage the operational performance, development and delivery of operational strategy, assessing risks to the business and ensuring policies are implemented to manage these risk and mitigate any potential breaches of regulation
  • Conduct risk assessments against all new services, ensuring the risk is minimised to the Group in regards to AML
  • Investigate any compliance incidents
  • Responsible for assisting External Audit matters relating to compliance, monitoring and regulation - and in collaboration with other Country Managers across Europe
  • Design, in conjunction with HR, any regulatory compliance training required
  • Be responsible for the Regulatory relationships and any other external relationships from a compliance perspective
  • Develop extensive knowledge of current and future products and services to ensure compliance measures are adequate and reduce any risk to the Group

Key Requirements-

  • Extensive Compliance and MLRO experience, specifically in payment services and retail / corporate banking
  • Demonstrable and detailed knowledge of FCA rules and regulations, together with European level regulatory initiatives
  • Knowledge of other European regulators would be advantageous
  • Strong Compliance background with exposure to AML and anti-fraud systems
  • Gravitas with excellent relationship building skills with a range of stakeholders
  • Creative / analytical approach to designing solutions
  • Customer focused and ability to collaborate with regional teams across Europe
  • Adaptable, flexible approach to work, using own initiative
  • Ability to work in an exceptionally fast paced environment
