My client, a leading global payment provider is on a mission to transform how consumers send and spend money around the world. Job Scope

Reporting to the Global Director, Products and Transformation, this role works closely with Marketing this role works closely with Marketing to focus on acquisition. Sitting within Products and Transformation but working closely with Marketing on customer acquisition and retention.

You will be heading up our Digital Payments Portfolio. Launching first to UK consumers this summer, this digital product is the most strategically important digital product for the organisation’s business strategy. And as such is very high profile role. The existing product allows travellers to avoid bank card roaming charges when using their debit and credit cards abroad. During a limited pilot that was vastly oversubscribed, the card has been used every two minutes and in over 43 countries around the world

What we are looking for:

The role requires an astute commercial operator, with knowledge of the cards market, willing to get their hands dirty to aggressively grow adoption of our product as we rollout in the UK and subsequent markets.

Key accountabilities:
• Take full ownership of the customer proposition
• Day to day ownership of the product P&L
• Developing the programme and delivering growth of customer base to ensure increased rates of acquisition, retention and engagement
• Effectively evaluate and execute partnership strategy
• Drive the international rollout of the product
• Manage day to day operations and third party relationships
• Work closely with Product Development to scope the evolution of the app and card processing technologies to enhance the offering and solve operational issues
• Collaborate with Marketing to drive acquisition, engagement and new market entry
• Work efficiently with the wider team to evolve cross sell strategy in order to drive growth of our other Products

You will have:
• 5 to 10 years experience within a cards or financial services environment with a solid understanding of the market
• A demonstrable track record as material contributor to a fast growing B2C business
• Credible experience creating and driving a clear value proposition
• The ability to seamlessly context switch from negotiating multi-million pound contracts one minute to proactively reaching out to solve a customer issue the next
• Strong relationship building skills and gravitas when engaging at all levels

You will be:
• Commercially astute and able to demonstrate a highly numerate and analytical approach
• Excited to understand the end to end economics of a card transaction and the value chain
• Able to operate at strategic, tactical and operational levels
• Hungry and show an entrepreneurial spirit and constantly challenge the status quo
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and operating in a fast paced environment
• Somebody who thinks expansively, creatively and inherently understands digital
• Someone who thrives when rolling their sleeves up getting immersed in the detail to grow a business from the ground up

Ideally, you will have
• Worked in a role with P&L ownership
• Experience operating in international markets
• A background in digital and be confident operating in a technology-driven business
