Head of New Business & Marketing
Passionate about the sports and entertainment industry? Experienced in driving new business growth? We are looking for a strong candidate to help maintain our current level of growth and achieve ambitious agency revenue targets through winning new business & raising our profile. The Head of New Business & Marketing will be tasked with proactively identifying new opportunities, leading on pitch responses, raising the standard and quality of work across all initiatives and driving the external profile of the agency.

Role Overview
• Reporting into the Managing Director, this role is responsible for driving, leading and project managing the new business process from lead generation to pitch and conversion
• Marketing of the agency will be equally important – with a focus on raising the profile and reputation of Fuse
• The successful candidate will need to manage multiple stakeholders across all areas of the business and levels of seniority, as well as an external network
• This role will require strong project management, organisational and literacy skills
• The candidate will need to be personable, influential and have a good knowledge of our industry, our clients and business, to manage initiatives that help attract new business
• There will be a New Business Project Manager reporting directly into this role
• The Head of New Business and Marketing will be a key member of the senior management team and expected to contribute to other areas of agency life

Key areas of responsibility:
• Working with the senior leadership team to develop a pitch process and implementing this across the agency
• Leading and managing Fuse’s pitch process for new business (excluding organic growth from existing clients)
• Leading and managing the completion of tender documents, RFI’s and written submissions
• Successfully converting business at a specified %

• Creating a prospecting strategy for target categories and specialist sectors
• Identifying opportunities to implement prospecting strategies
• Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with agency contacts, industry bodies and potential prospects

• Raising the profile of the agency internally and externally
• Working closely with the PR team to identify opportunities to be continually top of mind, developing strong relationships with key partners and driving the PR agenda
• Identifying key industry events for attendance and developing external profile
• To be an active, visible, enthusiastic ambassador for Fuse
• Leading on identifying and collaborating industry awards entries – ensuring meticulous quality control across the board
• Ensuring our external facing materials (website, creds, collateral) are up to date and fit for purpose

Quality Control
• Consistently raising the bar; improving the process and quality of pitch work, always challenging the status quo and striving to find better ways of working
• Managing company information (credentials, show reels, online profiles etc.)
• Managing the New Business Project Manager and overseeing relevant admin

Skills & qualities required:
• Candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the business and use knowledge to drive strategic new business agenda with senior stakeholders
• Head of New Business & Marketing will be energetic, adaptable, ambitious, enthusiastic, proactive, and have the ability to unite and motivate all levels of staff
• The successful applicant will have excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
• The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident networking and building industry contacts, acting in a professional manner at all times
• They must be a collaborative member of the wider New Business and Marketing team sharing collateral and pitch process learnings where appropriate
• They will take a personal pride in always delivering brilliantly and going ‘above and beyond’ on behalf of the agency

Experience required:
• At least 10 years’ relevant new business / marketing experience, working with high profile brands
• Experience working within the world of Sports and Entertainment and understanding of how partnerships and live brand experience play an important part of the broader marketing mix
• Proven track record of successfully identifying and converting new business opportunities
• Proven experience in leading high profile pitches and understanding what is required as part of the response
• Experience of developing and deploying marketing strategies
• Experience managing a wide variety of stakeholders and senior personnel to achieve desired outcome
• Experience of people management and ability to facilitate career
