Operations Project Manager – 10 month contract UK

BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for boarding new participants and providing operational support to issuers, acquirers, processors, network to network partners and software vendors in the EMEA region.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 
Essential Functions 
 
1._ Provide day to day support for acquirers, network to network partners, issuers and processors. This includes researching complex situations, and supporting the participants on all aspect of operations and managing participant operational relationships. 
 
2._ Support Participants through the semi-annual release process. This includes managing and coordinating certification, ensuring the Participants are in compliance with Operating Rules and Regulations, and engaging the participants to support key initiatives. 
 
3._ Support local Business Development teams to expand Cards in Force and acceptance footprints. This includes boarding new franchises, issuers, acquirers, processors and software vendors on to the Network, and assist contract negotiation and Due Diligence. 
 
4._ Support the Quality of Acceptance Initiatives by managing the participants within the assigned portfolio. Activities include but are not limited to analyzing end to end transaction processing, help to trouble shoot any card decline issues or card holder acceptance complaints, and the support of issuer launches with priority. 
 
5._ Demonstrate knowledge as a subject matter expert to mentor others in the department. Display leadership role in executing special department initiatives. Lead the department to ensure processes/projects are well documented to meet auditing requirements. 

KEY SKILLS/COMPETENCIES and PROFICIENCY LEVELS:

1. Bachelors Degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
2. Demonstrated cross functional knowledge of the Payment Network Industry focusing on operations and relationship management, which results in the ability to make critical project recommendations and decisions.
3. Experience in client management
4. Experience and knowledge in international payment network systems, technical and operational knowledge in authorization, clearing/settlement, and dispute process will be strongly desirable.
5. Strong project management skills with experience managing multi-faceted project throughout the entire project life cycle. Demonstrated skills in leading a group of people towards meeting a common project milestone/goal.
6. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in parallel.
7. Self-motivated, demonstrated ability to work & lead teams independently with little direct supervision and flexible with working hours.
8. Strong communication skills which allow effective communication with all levels of employees, customers and management.
9. Excellent writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to create presentations, reports and persuasive papers (position papers).
10. Skills developing and delivering presentations to both internal and external audiences.
11. Ability to analyze existing processes and identify ways to automate and streamline them.
12. Experience in creating or contributing to financial reporting. This may include a financial plan, variance report or a cost/benefit analysis associated with a specific project.
