Payments / Operations Analyst - Fintech - SW London - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Modulr is an exciting FinTech start up based in Edinburgh and London. They provide flexible payments platform which enables businesses to simplify complex payment flows delivering efficiencies and cost savings though automation.

We're looking for an Operations Analyst to join our team and work closely with the Operations Manager as well as other teams across the business in their day to day role. The objective of the role is to ensure that our customers funds are reconciled, allocated and managed appropriately within our regulatory requirements. We are looking for a driven and agile Operational Analyst to join our growing company whom also has meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, focused and highly organised individual. You must be a team player when it comes to getting the job done and assisting wherever you can. It's worth noting that due to the nature of working for a start-up, the environment will continually evolve and the ability to be flexible will be key. This is an exciting opportunity to join an early stage business and be an instrumental part of building a high growth FinTech start-up.

Below gives you an insight into some of the key operational responsibilities of the role;

  • Prepare and analyse daily bank reconciliation/s within deadlines
  • Can identify and resolve any non-reconciled items
  • Ability to investigate and identify root causes of non-reconciled items and drive forward resolution to reduce reoccurrence
  • Review and initiate movement of daily and ad-hoc funds
  • Investigate and action exception queue - unallocated, suspended, failed and pending payments
  • Review and action payment queries coming from our customer support team
  • Inbound and outbound transactions
  • Submitting recall queries
  • Have external communication with our banking partner and payment providers to resolve payment queries
  • Aide in internal and external reporting requirements
  • Monitor real-time payment flows, payment processing and activity

You'll be a great fit if:

  • You have a bachelor's degree along with 1-2 years' experience in industry
  • You have experience of daily bank reconciliation and investigation of payment/transactional queries
  • You have excellent Microsoft excel skills
  • You like working with different teams across the business to resolve queries
  • You are structured and organised, able to handle the competing pressures of immediate payment queries alongside day to day tasks
  • You are articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You have the desire to improve processes and controls
  • You can think creatively, are driven and self-motivated
  • You have demonstrable ability to work with team members in a collegiate environment whilst independently managing your own time
  • You are comfortable working in an early stage business, where time is critical and things change frequently
  • You have experience in professional services or a regulated sector
