Product Development Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing payments businesses in the UK and will be instrumental to help manage their strategic expansion globally. In this role you will act as a main point of contact for product development across both the payment gateway and acquiring bank business creating a market leading product proposition
Job Scope
Reporting to the Head of Banking and Payments, you will manage and deliver product development opportunities against the agreed product development roadmap to ensure the company can penetrate key markets and merchant verticals. You will manage and complete commercial relationships with 3rd party providers of payment processing solutions to complement the product development strategy and be responsible for product delivery for both internal and external customers and the development of internal processes to support product delivery across departments and different regional teams as well as maintain existing relationships with 3rd party suppliers
Duties and responsibilities – you will:
• Manage and maintain existing products and ongoing management of product partners including 3rd party acquiring banks and alternative payment providers
• Negotiate ISO/referral contracts & implement competitive tariffs to reduce costs
• Conduct the proactive assessment of new product partners with approval from key internal stakeholders
• Define business and commercial requirements and complete business cases as required for commercial sign off and prioritization
• Have regular interaction across internal departments to help deliver their business and operational strategies
• Act as a key point of contact between the organisation and its product partners to resolve any operational and service related issues
• Monitor partner suppliers performance
• Ensure compliance with legal, credit & regulatory requirements

• Managing day to day relationships with product partners
• Identifying & engaging new 3rd party suppliers
• Identifying new services & products which may benefit the business going forward
• Managing the project life cycle of implementing a new product both commercially and operationally
• Leveraging existing relationships where possible to achieve wider coverage
• Participating in industry events & conferences
• Extensive relationship management experience
• Managing relationships with both internal parties (sales, marketing, operations, compliance, legal, credit risk management etc.) and external bodies

Your Background and Experience
• 5+ years’ experience in Acquirer/Merchant or Payment Gateway.
• Experience of managing external supplier relationships/ interaction
.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Ideally have experience working in a high paced and dynamic working environment
• Possess a good understanding of the online payments industry and the ecommerce landscape
