The role of the Proposal Specialist is to perform support and sales activities for Red Payments Sales Managers, Clients and Prospects; to develop new business relationships and strengthen the value of existing client relationships. Red Payments seeks a candidate with strong attention to detail, the ability to perform a large variety of duties for multiple sales managers, sales representatives, and clients. We are hiring a bright individual who is driven and willing to learn, one who possesses excellent multi-tasking skills. We're responsible for a lot of clients, so we want someone who can take any task and be the owner of it. Red Payments is rapidly growing, so our ideal candidate is focused, can wear many hats and face new challenges head-on. Excellent customer service skills and experience are required.


  • Develops and maintains knowledge of writing proposals and creating comparisons to identify rates for potential clients as well as our products and services.
  • Verify and proof applications and proposals
  • Collaborate with management while assessing merchant needs
  • Communicates with clients / prospects using the telephone in conjunction with web based tools.
  • Identifies product-cross sell and up-sell opportunities and either takes the lead or refers them to sales personnel. Identifies, closes or refers new product opportunities.
  • Educate, consult and close prospective merchant inquiries
  • Respond and capitalize on daily leads
  • Collect, analyze and organize required documentation from merchants and banking partners
  • Manage multiple merchant relationships and contribute positively within the established guidelines of the company
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service levels


  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Must be good with numbers / calculations
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Comfortable operating within a teamed selling approach with energy and sense of ownership
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with drive to learn independently and in a structured environment
  • Good customer service and follow-up skills
  • Solid working knowledge of CRM system is desired
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong PC skills - Excel, Word, PPT, MS Office, Salesforce
  • Comfortable operating within a teamed selling approach with energy and sense of ownership

Education / Compensation

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience managing customer accounts

  • Merchant Service Experience preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus!
