Modulr - Risk and Compliance Analyst

We're looking for a dedicated Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our team to help support the growth of ourbusiness, whilst protecting us and our customers against financial crime. An exciting opportunity to join an early stage business and be an instrumental part of building a high growth start-up payments business.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our team and work closely with the Risk and Compliance Manager to deliver a robust set of controls and drive a culture of compliance across the business. You will take ownership of the day to day compliance tasks, Client Due Diligence and Transaction monitoring and will ensure that these processes continue to deliver an adequate and effective control framework, covering all key risk areas.We're a small team so this is a hands-on role; you'll need to be comfortable getting in to the detail and be happy to suggest improvements.

Modulr has a strong team with extensive experience in payments, who recognise the importance of compliance to protect the business. The role requires a forward-thinking individual who can also recognise the value of finding innovative but robust ways of meeting compliance requirements to support the growth of the business.

  • You are analytical and can assess risks and define appropriate controls based on these, communicating the links, effectiveness and any potential gaps clearly to others.

We'll want you to show that:

  • You have 1 - 2 years professional experience looking to develop a career in compliance.
  • The world of FinTech excites you
  • You have a general understanding of the regulatory landscape Modulr operates in

We'll need you to demonstrate quality experience in:

  • Being responsible for the day to day compliance tasks and prioritising these tasks accordingly.
  • Taking ownership of the transaction monitoring process, where you will need to identify unusual transaction activity in line with different client types
  • Taking ownership of the Client Due Diligence process, where you will validate existence of businesses, individuals, ultimate beneficial owners. Whilst understanding the nature of the clients' business to be able to identify and mitigate key financial crime risks.
  • Identifying fraudulent activity across the Modulr platform
  • Migrating manual processes to automated processes, whilst ensuring the correct risk parameters are applied. Define these processes, setting out the optimal way to achieve goals and embedding tools and procedures to achieve that.
  • Will assess the adequacy and effectiveness of measures, controls and procedures put in place to ensure Modulr's compliance with its regulatory obligations.
  • Developing and maintaining Compliance policies & Processes.
  • Being responsible for the identification, investigation and reporting of financial crime.
  • Having an autonomous, self-starting approach and proven ability to identify and prioritise what needs to be done.
