Job Content
Discover® Global Network (DGN) is the third largest Network in the world. In order to further expand Acceptance, this position will focus on acceptance expansion for DGN Cards through Merchant Acquirers and PSPs in the EMEA Region, specifically in Germany, Switzerland and selected other markets.
The Senior Manager will
1. Sign and enable Merchant Acquirers and selected NSPs/PSPs.
2. Manage the ongoing relationship with Merchant Acquirers to ensure Merchant enablement is maximized and awareness, branding and technical enablement is maintained.
3. Manage the end to end sales and budget pipeline, from initial identification as a target Acquirer / Partner through to contract management, due diligence requirements enablement; validation etc.
4. Identify barriers for further growth in targeted markets and/or sectors.
Merchant Acquirers
· Develop proposals and negotiate agreements with new and existing Acquirers and selected NSPs/PSPs to maximise acceptance growth for DGN Cardholders.
· Partner with and ensure that all internal functions (merchant, marketing, operations, legal, are effectively engaged to support the delivery of the account objectives.
· Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) style support about the target markets to the EMEA, APAC and Global HQ teams as required.
· Ensure all existing agreements are tracked and remedial action taken if planned delivery is not on schedule.
· Achieve the account objectives by delivering industry leading Account Management skills.

Merchant Acquirer Strategies

· Execute and refine where required go-to-market plans to expand DGN Card Acceptance in all channels in the target markets.
· Identify the most suitable Acquirers, Processors, NSPs/PSPs and develop partner strategies, structure and negotiate strategic partnerships.
· Be the EMEA SME and go-to person for acceptance in the target markets.

Budgeting and Performance Reporting,

· Maintain a detailed sales pipeline, track and report progress against the pipeline and goals. Highlight gaps and recommend ways to remediate any gaps to goals.
· Responsible for documenting, monitoring and reporting internally in a timely manner the performance and the status of DGN Card Acceptance.
· Own and manage budget and forecast process for Acquirers and selected NSPs/PSPs.
· 10 years in Business development / sales / relationship management roles. Experience in strategic roles is a plus.
. Master’s Degree in relevant Marketing or Finance based subject or MBA .or equivalent experience.
· Direct experience in working with Merchant Acquirers and NSPs in Germany
· Experience in working with Payment Schemes.
· Business acumen and proven commercial mind
· Contract experience.
· Sales ‘Hunter’ mentality.
· Hands-on, self-sufficient with positive / constructive attitude
· Pragmatic.
· Strong communicator and excellent people skills.
· Languages: English and German
