Software Engineer - Fintech - XML / EDI A Software Engineer who wants their first Senior role is required for a Global Fintech Trade Finance business, building and delivering leading financial supply chain solutions globally to large enterprise customers. Their Fintech solutions help businesses improve working capital performance. Location: London, City Salary: 55k + bonus + bens The Trade Finance team is a fast-growing global team with a startup mindset (within a global corporate), encompassing product design and development, sales, and customer delivery. They have a come a long way, but there is so much exciting work ahead and the Software Engineer for payments role is critical in driving them forward. You will report into the Head of Product for Trade Financing Solutions, working closely with our talented and experienced product team, software engineers, and the Trade Finance Delivery team which implements solutions with their customers. You will be a key contributor to driving the development of Trade Finance products, and passionate about delivering solutions that provide a user experience that their customers love, at a fast pace and on a global scale. The Software Engineer role will primarily involve (1) supporting their Pay & Discount products and the underlying Seeburger engine, which streamlines payment processes and can provide working capital benefits for their large enterprise customers, and (2) supporting development and customer configurations of theor bespoke ERP adaptor to connect customer ERP systems to our systems. Key Responsibilities: Development of new Trade Finance products, as well as extending and maintaining existing products and components including Basware Pay and their ERP Adaptor products. Extend their integration and transaction system for payments, built on their bespoke transactional product system. This is a high throughput system to transform enhance and deliver data to our internal systems and customers. This system must have very high uptime and performance while being flexible and supportable. Deliver solid code following good design patterns and open standards that provides users with a great experience. Work with the solutions architect / product and technically lead the implementation of new functionality. Follow best practices for software development. Write highly testable code and maintain high unit test coverage. Analyze and dissect user stories and functionality requests into manageable pieces of work and accurately estimate development effort. Participate in planning the Scrum in a way that helps the team achieve targets. Plan, design and estimate new functionality in such a way that functionality is delivered on time, the code is easy to maintain, and major rework is avoided. Essentials: Established Software Engineer looking for their first Senior Software Engineer role. Experience of BPEL engines and B2B integration tools (e.g. SeeBurger, Mule, Service Mix, TIBCO, etc.) Strong XML, EDI, SQL knowledge Understanding of process design and problem solving Understanding of performance including testing and design for high throughput Understanding of networking especially HTPP(S), FTP, Certificates, encryption, digital signing Hands-on technical expertise with and knowledge of Java Self-starter with a proven experience of meeting or exceeding targets. Must be eligible for UK Government SC (Security Clearance) and NPPV Level 3, and must have at least 5 years residence in the UK for UK Government clearance requirements Beneficial: Experience from procurement, eBis or eCommerce development Experience with Seeburger BIS and process designer an advantage Knowledge of cXML, OAG, BASDA, EDIFACT etc. very useful Knowledge of SAP, Oracle P2P, Ariba or other P2P useful. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Couch, Redis, Neo4J, Riak Oracle SQL Developer and SQL Server Management Studio knowledge Key Role Stakeholders: Internal (70%) - developing new features and applications, helping investigate live issues and resolve customer problems, creating designs for new requirements. External (30%) - working with customers and third-party software providers to resolve problems and implement new services.
