The Sr. Director of eCommerce, Content & Merchandising Strategy is responsible for directing the development & management of online content and merchandising strategies. This position is responsible for delivering a world class shopping experience which is integrated and consistent across applications (desktop, mobile). The position will manage & develop a team of site merchandisers and content specialists responsible for our Footwear and Apparel categories. The role will partner with the eCommerce Experience, Global Merchandising, Omni Fulfillment, Marketing, Planning and Product Management (Technology) teams to drive traffic and conversion with the overarching goal to provide a frictionless customer experience and achieve planned EBT. The position will have oversight responsibilities in optimizing monthly merchandising plans including category page presentation, taxonomy & site navigation, content development & acquisition. This role will be a key stakeholder and collaborator across functional teams on strategies related to the following; email marketing, SEM keyword, SEO optimization & promotional strategies. This role will manage web KPI's by department: category visits, product page productivity, add to cart metrics, category conversion, exit & bounce rates, UPT (Units Per Transaction) AOV (Average Order Value). This role will be accountable for achieving P&L and web metrics. Job Duties & Responsibilities Relentlessly drive improvements to the site experience through the development and execution of strategic cross-functional projects that will improve conversion rate, average order value, units per transaction and revenue growth. Serve as the department subject matter expert regarding online merchandising Manage the following aspects of the webstore for a specific merchandising division: * + o Online customer experience o Online merchandising o Site Shopability o Site Searchandising o Product Photography o Site Content Optimization o Product Customization * Maintain a strong vision for future site improvements driven by passion for delighting our customers. * eCommerce expert leading cross functional teams that include Global Merchandising, PAR, Vendors, and Marketing to ensure products are live, assorted correctly and have all relevant content. * Analyze site metrics and related data to identify opportunities to improve merchandising and the customer experience across the various sites and product categories. * Take active lead in weekly ecommerce business reviews across analytics, merchandising, marketing, customer service and fulfillment to ensure all areas are aligned. * Partner across Global Merchandising, Product Management, Merchandising Operations, Brand, and Marketing to drive the global planning strategy to completion and ensure cohesive customer experience across all touch points. * Participate in executive creative and marketing concept meetings to identify and recommend appropriate ecommerce themes to be featured in planned marketing campaigns and sales promotions. * Take proactive role in working with Marketing to help shape the continuity of content across DSG banners. * Participate in Global Merchandising Strategy Meetings, Line Reviews and product presentations to get advance notice of forthcoming product lines; incorporate learnings into merchandising plans. * Regularly review competitive landscape for features and trends as they relate to best practices for online merchandisers and content specialists. Manage, coach and develop a team of Site Merchandising Managers, Merchandisers and Content Strategists Lead a team of online category merchandisers & content strategists whose key responsibilities include: * Establishing creative needs for all banners (Home Page, Product Detail Page, Landing Pages). * Visual merchandising of products across all banners. * Back end data management, including item master data as well as relevant content. * Creating appropriate and relevant copy for each product, including customer facing romance copy and technical features and benefits. * Overseeing photography of all seasonal assortments, ensuring photography is shot to style guides and delivered in time for product to go live. * Identifying opportunities to sell to the customer in a frictionless way. * Accountable for P&L by division with the buying and planning teams; sales, margin and EBT; Responsible for website KPI's by division: UPT (Units Per Transaction), conversion, exit rate, AOV, abandon cart. Manager of People Responsibilities: * Select, on-board, empower, and develop a highly effective team of individuals. * Define a clear vision and strategy in order to communicate expectations. * Demonstrate a flexible leadership style to foster team member engagement including recognition. * Hold all team members accountable to drive results by being available, removing barriers and obstacles, facilitating change, and providing coaching/feedback related to performance. * Incorporate your customer's perspective when defining success. * Bachelor's Degree Experience Requirement * 10 - 15 Years * 10+ years in eCommerce, planning, or web retail merchandising experience Technological Requirements * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite * Experience with Websphere Commerce, GroupBy a plus Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable working with large data sets and making data-driven decisions. Experience with web analytics strongly preferred. * Senior presence, able to lead across functions and departments and synthesize multiple points of view into a compelling point of view and coherent action plan. * Able to think both creatively and critically. Willing to think outside the box and challenge the status quo, while also fairly evaluating all possible solutions in making strategic decisions. * Able to manage through ambiguous and subjective situations, including balancing operational efficiency and data analysis with high quality standards and a sense of what is "right" for the customer. * Able to quickly learn necessary technical tools; Experience with Websphere Commerce, GroupBy a plus. * Able to manage many initiatives and drive multiple threads of work to completion. * Superb communication skills, clear and concise in both written and verbal communication. * Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
