Employer AML proactively identifies, assesses, reports and mitigates compliance and reputational risk across business lines, products, legal entities and jurisdictions to the benefit or our franchise, customers and employees. Employer AML sets standards and uses an enterprise-wide risk management approach in partnership with the business and other global functions to drive a strong culture of compliance and control and support the principles of responsible finance.
The AML Sponsor Support team is an integral part of the Global Monitoring Risk Management Program responsible for supporting individual business line monitoring risk management teams and multi-business monitoring risk management requirements. Scenario in this context refers to the broad array of tools and approaches used to detect and prepare for investigation, anomalous activity that may be of money laundering concern.
Job Purpose:
The Sponsor Support role has the following high level functions:
  • Provide input and strategic guidance for functional AML transaction monitoring tool design and development;
  • Ensure proper risk-based coverage and technical adherence to monitoring standards and consistency among lines of business and geographic regions related to Employer's AML Transaction Monitoring Program; and
  • Ensure and promote consistency in the development of monitoring strategies across MRM; aide and guide the proper design, development, and deployment of our transaction monitoring solutions
AML Scenario Management Oversight Support role is integral to these processes and will, as well, help with the design and support for these new Scenario Oversight Management processes. The primary focus of the role is to ensure that effective scenarios are defined, configured and implemented in line with the applicable risks. This includes reviewing the functional soundness of SMV (Scenario Management and Validation) scenario and model calibration efforts, providing credible challenge to proposals, and ensuring completed artifacts are in compliance with all standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that scenario requirements, solutions and related documentation are in line with the functional needs of Monitoring Risk management and technical standards of the program
  • Work with Scenario Sponsors in defining, documenting and managing the functional requirements for scenario development
  • Support Scenario Sponsors in the assessment of new scenario proposals
  • Prepare reports, presentations and summaries of both current state and recommendations for resolution of concerns, providing evidence of issue tracking, follow up and remediation (if necessary)

  • Proven track record demonstrating a strong understanding of business analysis, workflow, communications, organizational expertise, presentation development and positive interactions with internal audit and regulators
  • Creative and innovative experience and the ability to think outside the box
  • Strong project management skills
  • AML knowledge relative to transaction monitoring tools and techniques
  • Self-directed working style and comfort with remote management
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience (operational analysis, business analysis, requirements gathering, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years AML knowledge
  • Ideally, the candidate would demonstrate proficiency in one or more banking lines of business
  • Ideally, the candidate would have prior experience with scenario development, AML model reviews and threshold design and setting
