Position Overview:

The Vice President of Compliance & Risk will be the subject matter expert to the financial institution's leadership on all matters related to compliance. This role will be responsible for overall administration of the company's Regulatory Compliance as well as the Security and Risk Management of assets. The VP will coordinate the organization's overall compliance with applicable rules, regulations and statutory requirements.

Must have proficient knowledge BSA / AML / Contracts Compliance / Financial Risk Review

Primary Duties:

  • Lead the compliance team; manage, train, mentor and guide the Compliance & Risk team.
  • Foster a value added approach to compliance and minimization of risk by managing those functions in accordance with the strategic goals of the organization, its vision, and mission.
  • Provide oversight of all risk and acquisition activity. Ensure timely filing of all required documentation, client communications and operations integration.
  • Examine and evaluate adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Monitor changing legislation and recommend action to improve compliance or to adapt to the changing regulatory environment.
  • Evaluate adequacy and proper utilization of various security devices and practices intended to provide a reasonable level of protection to staff, clients, records, and the institutions assets. Recommend improvements reasonable and necessary to accomplish these goals.
  • Promote the establishment and implementation of the organization's risk assessments and compliance & security of assets.
  • Interface with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and the financial institution's officials as necessary.
  • Recommend corrective compliance and security actions.
  • Maintain the organizations bylaw, coordinating changes with the regulatory agency as necessary.
  • Act as a consultant to financial institution's management and officials; participate in meetings with the Senior Management, Supervisory Committee and Board of Directors, preparing recommendations/resolutions as necessary.

Experience & Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting. Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration preferred. Five or more years audit experience in a financial institution. Must have five or more years in a management position. Excellent written and oral communication skills. PC skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
