Our client—a major player in payments—is seeking an experienced Business Development Consultant to drive new merchant acquisition across the Hotel, Food & Beverage, and wider Retail & Hospitality sectors. This is a high-impact, front-line role where you’ll be responsible for building a strong pipeline, engaging directly with merchants, and delivering measurable growth in payment acceptance.

What You’ll Do

  • Identify, qualify and close high-potential prospects across key retail & hospitality verticals

  • Build engagement strategies and work closely with marketing, product, and BD teams to generate strong warm and cold pipelines

  • Deliver compelling C-suite presentations and proposals, leading negotiations from pitch to close

  • Own the full sales cycle—driving urgency, building mutual action plans, and ensuring a seamless internal and external process

  • Self-generate enterprise-level opportunities and cultivate new relationships

  • Drive new prospecting activity while leveraging referrals and your own industry network

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven success selling into Tier 1 merchants within retail & hospitality (Hotels/F&B strongly preferred)

  • Experience in payments, ideally within card schemes or related areas

  • A strong network of industry contacts—your own “black book” is a huge plus

  • A track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

  • Highly self-motivated with a growth mindset and a proactive approach
