A leading payments organisation is looking for an experienced Business Development Consultant to drive new merchant acquisition across the Retail & Hospitality sector. This role suits a Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Account Manager, or Payments Sales Consultant with a strong background in payments, merchant services, or card schemes.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for generating and closing new business opportunities within Hotels, Food & Beverage, Retail, and Hospitality. You’ll manage the full sales cycle, build strong merchant relationships, and deliver consistent revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Generate, develop, and close new merchant sales opportunities
Target and win business across Hotels, F&B, Retail, and Hospitality sectors
Build and manage a strong warm and cold pipeline
Deliver presentations and proposals to C-level stakeholders
Lead negotiations and manage deals from first contact to completion
Self-generate leads and utilise existing industry networks
Work closely with internal marketing, product, and BD teams
Skills & Experience
Proven success selling into Tier 1 retail & hospitality merchants
Experience in payments, merchant acquiring, card schemes, or similar
Strong industry network (Hotels/F&B contacts ideal)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Consistent track record of achieving sales targets
Highly proactive, motivated, and commercially driven
