Operations Manager – Cyprus  a one-year assignment

·      Do you have a track record working in card services ?


My client, located in Nicosia, manages the complete payment eco system on behalf of a company with c. 7 million proprietary pre-paid cards and approx. 1 million MasterCard pre-paid cards. In addition, they have about 14,000 terminals placed at selected merchants.

They are seeking a dynamic and detailed card services professional to help them.

There are a number of projects underway that need to be implemented in the eco system.

These projects include the setting up of an ATM service on behalf of a bank and the launch of new card products. In addition, a project has been started to set up a disaster recovery site.


As Operations Manager, you will report to the COO and have the following experience

·      Familiar with card processing systems and their operations

·      Have been involved in running and managing an IT center

·      Be familiar with processing in the cloud

·      Be familiar with the processes that are needed to keep card services running 24 by 7 all the year and at the same time introduce fixes and enhancement onto the system


During the one-year assignment there are a few roles this person will have in addition to a number of deliverables. These can be summarised as follows:

  • Manage the day to day environment including to ensure that there are a set of processes and procedures in place to manage the running of the complete eco system.  Part of this role is to ensure that the interaction with vendors is optimal and follow industry best practises
  • Manage the release management process and ensure that there are a set of process and procedures in place
  • If not in place set-up the proper production control and reporting systems
  • By July – in conjunction with the Disaster Recovery project - set up and train staff to be able to run the DR data
  • By August – prepare a report where the first part is a set of observations as to improvements that should be considered
  • By August - prepare a report on what would be needed to bring as much as possible of the out-sourced functions in house
