Engineering Lead (Hands-On) – Fintech

Russian, .NET (C#) ,  Node.js, PostgreSQL

Location: Latvia / Cyprus / Poland (preferred ) or  EU remote

Our client is a  fast-growing fintech group seeking a hands-on Engineering Lead to take ownership of a distributed engineering team and play a key role in shaping its technology strategy. The organisation provides infrastructure that enables businesses to issue payment cards and manage digital accounts, supporting secure, compliant electronic payments and multi-currency transactions across international markets.

Operating across regulated financial entities and European technology hubs, the group combines financial expertise with modern, scalable engineering.

Job Scope

As  Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for both technical leadership and hands-on delivery, working closely with senior stakeholders while remaining actively involved in development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring, and developing a remote, multicultural engineering team
• Owning architectural decisions and maintaining high standards of code quality
• Remaining hands-on with design, coding, and code reviews
• Collaborating with product, compliance, and business stakeholders
• Driving adoption of cloud-native architecture and modern technologies, including AI
• Building secure, scalable, high-availability systems within a regulated environment

Candidate Profile

You  will bring strong technical depth alongside proven leadership experience in distributed teams.

Required experience and skills:

• Fluent English and Russian
• 5–8+ years of professional software development experience
• 2–4+ years in an engineering leadership role
• Demonstrated experience leading distributed engineering teams
• Strong expertise in .NET (C#) and Node.js
• Advanced experience with PostgreSQL
• Cloud-native architecture experience (Kubernetes, serverless)
• CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and secure development practices
• Experience integrating AI-driven solutions
• Fintech or regulated-environment experience is highly desirable
• Eligibility to work in the EU is mandatory
