Product Manager Acceptance, Merchant Services, Amadeus Payments

Product Manager, Product Management, Acquirer services, merchant acceptance, merchant services, payment gateways

Summary of the role

Amadeus Payments is a key area of growth within Amadeus.  We operate as a start-up within the Amadeus family, driving the company’s diversification into new sectors and product areas. We combine Amadeus’ reliability, travel knowledge and technological innovation, with a start-up culture and a hunger to disrupt the old ways of processing payments.

This is a great opportunity to help take the Travel Industry’s leading payment gateway to the next level (Amadeus Payments processes c. €100bn annually).

We’re a global, omni-channel, travel-integrated one-stop shop for our Travel Merchant customers (inc. cards & APMs acceptance, fraud screening, EMV 3DS, tokenisation, checkout, pay-by-link) all accessible via a best-in-class homegrown payment platform and we’ve got exciting plans to strengthen our offering (inc. frictionless payments and data services) and transition to a product first organisation.

To that end, we’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Product Manager to take charge of and evolve our cards & APMs acceptance product.

In this role you’ll

·        Define, based on customer / market / competitive insight you will have gathered, the vision & strategy for your product and execute on that strategy to turn it into customer success

·        For card acceptance, you’ll take the lead to ensure that our authorisation and capture/clearing messages have the relevant functionality (data, 3ds, instalment, etc) and reach (choice of most popular card brands and acquirers) to support our Travel Merchant customers (airlines, hotels, etc) in their travel-specific environments (use cases, channels)

·        For APM acceptance, you’ll take ownership for ensuring that our Travel Merchant customers can offer the relevant APMs to their customers in the markets and channels where they operate

·        For both card & APM acceptance, your strategy will need to be all encompassing inc. ease of onboarding/activation of the payment methods, customer support, choice of partners, fallback options, etc

·        Define, communicate and maintain the intrinsic value proposition of your product

·        Define and maintain the pricing of your product

·        Define cases for investment, take charge of the business case for your SAFe EPICS / Features inc. where applicable for the partner’s commitment, make build/buy/partner decisions, make funding requests and actively manage your product’s budget and associated revenue

·        Collaborate with key stakeholders inc. Segment Strategists (airlines, hospitality, travel agents, etc) to gather segment-specific requirements, Product Development (the POs for card & APM acceptance) to define roadmaps and backlogs (we’re moving to SAFe), Payment Platform, Partnerships, Sales, Marketing

·        Ensure, in collaboration with the Compliance Manager, that your product is and remains compliant with payment schemes’ rules and payment regulations where applicable

About you

·        You’ll have experience as a product manager for cards and APMs acceptance acquired in a relevant B2B2C payment domain (PSP, Acquirer, Scheme, Large Merchant, …) and with at least regional (ideally global) responsibility

·        You’ll be able to provide evidence of successfully evolving products and of successfully launching new products

·        You’ll have experience in a fast paced, product centric environment

·        A University degree would be preferable

·        You’ll have experience in teasing out insight and articulating customer needs

·        You’ll have experience in developing market and competitor data

·        You’ll have experience of Budget Management and with SAFe

What we can offer you

Extensive range of benefits including an opportunity to work flexibly, 28 days holiday, bonus, pension, healthcare and discount schemes. As well as;

·        Working for a company that has been voted as a Top Employer for 2019 and 2020

·        Skills development and opportunities to try new ideas

·        Experience in one of the world's top 10 software companies

·        Impact millions of travellers from all around the globe

·        A place where you can see your ideas come to life
