Senior Payments Manager

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 Per Annum (+ bonus & benefits )

Our client is a market leading household name, who offer a wide range of products across financial services, insurance and multiple other business lines. They are keen to hire a payments professional to join and lead their payments team, and take ownership of the end to end payments journey in this (largely subscription based) business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading brand in a highly visible role, with superb career opportunities. 

The role:

  • take ownership of the end to end payments acceptance flow - own, monitor & improve processes to maximise revenue assurance
  • assume responsibility for payment related churn, as the internal SME on card & direct debit payments
  • lead & manage the 4-strong payments team
  • manage & lead all supplier selection & relationships, focused on improvement
  • develop & improve the pay-fail rates & pay-fail processes
  • work closely with the leadership team to set & manage the payment strategy, drive the change agenda
  • ensure full regulatory compliance with relevant schemes & guidelines

About you:

  • analytically confident, able to analyse large data sets & identify issues/trends
  • highly numerate, financially accurate & a high level of commercial awareness
  • proven experience in large scale payments (preferably subscription based) projects, with a background of driving operational improvement
  • excellent payments industry knowledge & technical understanding of direct debit & card collections (AUDDIS, DD)
  • knowledge of regulatory & legal requirements 
  • ability to manage and lead a team 
  • confident communicator, able to present and take ownership of issues
