Business Analyst – Finance / Accounting / Payment Flows

Our client is a global fintech providing cutting edge payments solutions allowing clients to  collect and settle money all around the world. The speed and efficacy of this payment flow  relies greatly on workflows and tools to record, reconcile, and settle payment activities with precision across the business.
As Business Analyst you will be responsible for managing the technology and workflows used to meet the increasingly complex requirements that clients have for receiving funds quickly, frequently, and efficiently.
 
You will be supported by your own dedicated engineering team and serve under the direction of the Product Management team responsible for all financial systems. From day 1, you will ensure that a number of critical technologies used for managing the company’s settlement, treasury and reporting needs are functioning efficiently. As such, you will liaise closely with the Finance team to streamline and consolidate reporting functions as well as fast track the resolution of operational issues.
 
 
Day to day you will :
 

  • Gather requirements and scope projects, facilitate discussions and drive solution design
  • Develop project deliverables and milestones in conjunction with the Product Management team
  • Drive and stay on top of project execution and highlight risks
  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress
  • Manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities
  • Manage communications between project stakeholders on requirements, schedules and risks
  • Become a subject matter expert on settlement, treasury and reporting
  • Provide expert support and liaison with other cross-functional teams including finance, legal, product, engineering, analytics, and business development
  • Facilitate and manage technical projects and large-scale programmes, working closely with Product Management, Finance, Engineering, Data and BI teams, and other cross-functional teams to deliver efficient solutions that satisfy stakeholder requirements

 
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
 

  • Strong experience of working in agile environments
  • A strong analytical mindset
  • Proficiency in translating requirements into well-understood user stories with clear acceptance criteria and refining tickets in close collaboration with a dedicated engineering team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously without losing sight of important delivery timelines
  • Proven track record of designing large, cross-functional systems and processes, and managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Solid technical understanding or hands-on experience in software development
  • Experience in requirements engineering and writing technical specifications
  • Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Basic understanding of financial processes and systems or eagerness to learn how financial processes work
  • Comfortable in speaking to larger audiences or senior management
  • Experience in a payment, FinTech or InsurTech company valued
