Our client provides cutting edge electronic payment solutions including design, certification and manufacture of industry certified hardware.

They partner  with Independent Software Vendors and Systems Integrators to provide  flexible payment solutions across public and private sector verticals.

As part of their growth, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to focus on driving  revenue from new clients in the Japanese market.

Day to day you will :

o   Identify and engage with the Japanese payment ecosystem,  acquiring new clients and revenue from key market players

o  Collaborate with card schemes (MasterCard, VISA, JCB)  to support business development activities

  • Provide market insight and feedback to the  UK Product team to assist with new product definition
  • Work with partners to develop business opportunities and secure orders working closely  with executive management  to produce Sales Management updates
  • Meet with prospective customers and support marketing initiatives to build a constantly growing pipeline
  • Work with a  solutions consulting approach to build understanding of customer pain points, requirements and potential value that can be delivered by the organisation
  • Deliver a compelling business case to customers detailing  hardware solution benefits, roadmap and reasons to buy
  • Participate in general sales activities; quarterly meetings, weekly reporting etc

 

To be successful in this role, you will need :

Essential :

  • 5+ years in direct sales / business development in payments with a solutions based approach
  • Fluent Japanese 
  • Some international travel involved ( minimum UK twice a year  )

 Nice to have :

  • Salesforce CRM
  • Payments hardware and/or experience of Retail and/or payments customer present solutions
  • Understanding of Western business culture or having worked for a global organisation with good understanding of managing western and Japanese integrations
  • English language
