Business Development Manager - Challenger Bank - selling payment & clearing solutions into PSP's, EMI's, MSB's, selling safeguarded deposits & banking to professional services firms.

Our client is a high growth scale up challenger UK bank who are focused on providing banking and payment solutions to the professional services markets (including segregated accounts / safeguarded deposits) and providing payments rails and clearing services to EMI's, PSP's & MSB's. They are in a unique position, as a licensed and regulated UK bank, to support the often complex and highly regulated banking needs of this market through their experience & knowledge of the sector. As part of our continued growth & development, we are keen to hire a BDM to join our commercial team.
- You will help to contribute towards the banks overall goals by identifying, qualifying, reaching out to, negotiating and then closing, signing and helping to onboard new customers to the bank.
- You will work independently to plan and forecast a business development strategy, ensuring regular contact is maintained & internal systems are updated.
- You will deliver exceptional customer service, utilising your knowledge of the space to deliver solutions to common challenges faced by target customers.
- As well as maintaining great relationships with customers & prospects, you will build strong internal networks with risk, compliance and all other colleagues within the bank.
- You will participate in industry events, networking opportunities and be an active member of the sales & relationship management function.
About you:
- You are likely to have a minimum 2+ years of sales, business development, account development or relationship management within the payments / banking sector (likely gained from working within a bank, EMI or PSP, or from within a regulated banking environment)
- Proven experience of sales success, with a good ability to understand and work compliantly within a heavily regulated environment.
- You will have a knowledge of the overall payments landscape, including risk, regulation, AML, financial services & banking (SEPA, SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS), virtual & crypto, open banking.
- Pro-active, strong work ethic and a great attitude to representing the bank will all be essential keys to success.
- You must have a knowledge of the regulated banking space and experience of selling relevant products.
- You will be a well organised individual, happy to work in a multi-cultural team, with an organised and responsible approach & great communication skills
