Business Development Manager – Payments & Fintech

Covering the US & Canada

Remote in the US – West Coast or Central/South preferred

Our client is an exciting SaaS scale-up, with class-leading solutions for payments companies, processors, ISO’s and acquirers. With clients all over the world, we are now keen to grow our footprint in the US and are keen to hire a Senior Business Development Manager to join the wider commercial team.

You will take responsibility for the entire sales cycle, from prospecting & new lead generation, developing referrals from existing customers, managing any incoming leads & enquiries and always selling in a consultative manner until you are able to close a new logo customer. Selling into the heavily regulated payments space, you will be aware of and able to manage different sales cycle lengths.

This position is ideal for a consultative, relationship-builder who is confident presenting, both face-to-face and virtually, within a heavily regulated payments & FI environment, able to confidently deliver exceptional SaaS solutions to genuine challenges that your customers are facing.

About the role:

  • Utilising your experience of business development & sales, you will prospect, self-generate and develop new leads within your target market (regulated payment companies, PSP’s, ISO’s, acquirers, aggregators and marketplaces in the US & Canada).
  • By true solution selling, you will demonstrate the capabilities of our SaaS product, by focusing on the benefits delivered & the problems it solves.
  • You will identify and set up meetings with payments sector leaders, attend client meetings, events, tradeshows, user groups, conferences etc. to network, build new contacts, and drive sales.
  • You will be happy to engage with and work with existing US customers, reviewing current usage of the SaaS platform and identifying up sale/cross sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with other internal stakeholders such as the Marketing team, to plan and drive strategic initiatives, programmes, messaging, and marketing campaigns within the region.

About you:

  • Experience of strong B2B Account Management with structured account review processes.
  • You will have extensive experience in the payments industry & maintain a good knowledge of the landscape.
  • Experience in selling a SaaS or Software Solutions product.
  • Be able to demonstrate the software to prospective customers and ask the right questions to identify and qualify opportunities.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, professional and independent.
  • Commercially focused and able to launch and implement projects using your own initiative.
  • You are happy to travel when required and can work flexibly to drive growth across new territories.
  • Proven track record of achieving & exceeding new business sales targets as well as driving growth within existing accounts.
