Our client is a leading global consultancy who work closely with a large portfolio of leading brands, reviewing and advising on their payments acceptance arrangements. As an independent consultancy, they are able to review existing complex agreements and recommend area's they could negotiate improvements, often able to secure substantial cost savings for their clients. We have a fantastic team of consultants who manage end-to-end projects on behalf of their clients, from initiation of new client reviews to working closely with in-house analysts, to presenting results to C-level audiences. 

The successful candidate will become a key member of the European consultancy team - managing client projects and relationships across a portfolio of merchants, working to review and optimise their payments arrangements. You will be self-confident & driven; a successful consultant will make significant contribution to company revenue and profit. You will review existing contracts and fee's from incumbent supplier relationships, and challenge assumptions on these - your client may benefit from a new supplier, or a re-negotiation with an existing one - whatever your teams analysis demonstrates, you will act on behalf of your client to ensure their complex needs are met in a cost effective way. 

About the role: 

  • Managing a portfolio of major retail & e-commerce customers; reviewing & analysing current payment acceptance methods; recommending improvements & cost reduction opportunities; working closely with internal & external stakeholders - focused on the DACH market 
  • Leading client projects from successful sale through to completion of project and collection of relevant fees
  • Completing client projects, including overseeing and critiquing all qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Preparing professional presentations and present findings to clients
  • Negotiating directly with suppliers
  • Managing and driving current and new income opportunities through a client portfolio of 10-15 clients in-line with agreed targets
  • Preparing any tender or contractual documentation required to support the project
  • Calculating any fees due to us arising from the project and ensure accuracy of invoices raised
  • Effectively managing all client communication throughout the project
  • Working effectively and collaboratively across departments including analysts, consultants and the economics teams

About you:

  • Educated to degree level or relevant payments industry experience within an acquirer, scheme, PSP or gateway 
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial client facing experience in a Project Manager, Business Development, Channel Sales, Consultant, Account Manager or Relationship Manager role within payments & an excellent grasp of payments as an industry 
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, alongside an ability to persuade and negotiate, strong organisational skills, able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks at any one time
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, performance focused with a desire to succeed and make a difference
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to self-manage, strong competency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Nice to have: ability to speak a European language & experience of pitching to C-Suite Executives is highly desirable
