Financial Operations Manager - Card Services 


Do you have experience of Financial Operations in a fast-paced start up, fintech environment and are  flexible and willing to take a hands-on approach ? If so, our client is an exciting scale up owned by an established UK parent company looking for an experienced,  dynamic and proactive  Card Services Financial Operations Manager.


Day to day you will be responsible for :

  • all aspects of the financial operations end-to-end process

that form part of the card services operation including data feeds and

movement of funds and data from key suppliers that impact daily

reconciliation and settlement and with regard to Card Schemes

shaping the process flows and procedures within a new card


  • Daily reconciliation with processor and schemes
  • Daily reconciliation with Payment Operations reporting
  • Financial Controls, ensuring that Scheme billing charges reflect expected

daily, weekly, monthly fees and charges from Scheme and assess trends to

determine future fees and charges through assessment and analysis of the

scheme billing software

  • Performance management: Monitor, identify and propose new processes

that will provide business improvements and cost efficiencies to the card

services operation and/or will support other functions across the business

  • Regulation & Scheme Obligations: Comply with regulatory and scheme

requirements on reporting

  • Risk Management; Work with Risk and Compliance in identifying and

managing key operational risk and managing mitigation appropriately

  • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with various internal and external

stakeholders as well as external partners and suppliers/partners

  • Daily reconciliation with processor and schemes
  • Treasury management: Management of scheme funds based on reporting

provided by both schemes and Processor

To be successful in this role, you will possess :

  • 2+ years experience financial operations in an Issuing or Acquiring environment
  • Understanding of card programmes and management of card processes across the value chain and specifically impacting reconciliation, settlement,clearing, authorisation between the Issuer, Processor and Scheme
  • Experience of developing and implementing ‘green field’ card processes within a business would be a distinct advantage
  • Appreciation of regulation across card market
