Our client, a fast paced payments solutions business is looking to expand the team and hire their Head of Risk and Compliance.  You will be the dedicated MLRO and will hold FCA control functions. You will have previous experience working at this level and will have a good understanding of the payments industry.

The job:

·       You will operate a high level of defense involving risk, AML and compliance

·       Provide the board and staff advice and guidance on AML matters including training

·       Establish and maintain a working relationship with the FCA

·       Managing the team providing solid leadership

·       Work alongside the fraud, risk and regulatory teams

·       Prepare reporting on risk and compliance functions

·       Oversee the company’s Risk Management strategy

·       Review and manage updates from FCA, JMLSG, HMRC, ESMA, FATF and other relevant bodies

·       Perform ongoing review of compliance manuals, policies and procedures

·       Manage oversight of due diligence process for new and existing clients, including CDD and KYC

·       Support the business with any compliance or regulatory queries on a daily basis

·       Manage the audit process undertaken by independent third parties

·       Manage the process for handling of  reviewing and reporting any suspicious activity or transactions

The requirements:

·       Previous experience in the Fintech, e-money and prepaid industry essential

·       Strong management skills

·       Experience as an MLRO within a financial services business is preferred

·       Successfully established and run a compliance function and team before

·       Demonstrable understanding of current legislation and best practices in all areas of risk and compliance

·       Experience with card schemes would be a plus

·       A legal background could be an advantage

·       Knowledge and experience of PSD2, GDPR, EMRs, PSRs and the MLD4/5
