Head of National Field Sales – Payments / Merchant Services
Location: Remote & regular travel
Type: Permanent contract
Salary: Negotiable basic salary, plus excellent bonus, commission accelerators + benefits

We are keen to locate and hire a fantastic Sales Leader on behalf of our client, a high growth, VC backed payments technology business. As an exciting scale up in the fin-tech space, an opportunity has now been created for a sales leader to join the leadership team, building, and owning the self-employed field sales model.

There is real ambition to grow and develop the self-employed field sales team across the UK, and you will have autonomy to build & lead the team effectively in an exciting environment. The company is fast paced, and you will be given all the support you need to truly own, develop and deliver sales through the self-employed field sales team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work for a progressive acquirer, with a true appetite to develop the self-employed field sales team across the UK.

The role will involve: 

·         Working with your leadership team colleagues to build out a sales growth strategy/business plan for the self-employed sales model and roll this plan out into the business

·         Recruiting, leading & inspiring a self-employed field sales team

·         Identify targets and deliver results, identify ways to increase market share, generate and source leads through a variety of sources

·         Work with internal colleagues on building relevant & rewarding commission & remuneration models for the team

About you:

·         Extensive experience of leading/managing/building a business development team, specifically focused within payments / merchant services

·         Be great at reporting, forecasting, pipeline management, communicating, planning and strategy

·         Have good presentation & pitching skills, a hunter mentality & be able to lead and influence a field sales team

·         Self-starter, with a strategic and consultative approach

·         Happy to roll sleeves up and get stuck in with an entrepreneurial spirit, go getter attitude and ability to work in a fast paced

·         Comfortable in a relative start-up environment, able to bring structure & process

·         Minimum of 7-10 years of sales experience, ideally in and around the UK/European payments space, working for an ISO or acquirer

·         Leadership and team development experience, starter finisher mentality with an eye for detail and customer/team centric attitude

·         High energy and positive individual, problem solver, out of the box thinker 

·         Strong commercial acumen
