Summary of the role
Amadeus Payments is a key area of growth within Amadeus. We operate as a start-up within the Amadeus family, driving the company’s diversification into new sectors and product areas. We combine Amadeus’ reliability, travel knowledge and technological innovation, with a start-up culture and a hunger to disrupt the old ways of processing payments.
This is a great opportunity to take the Travel Industry’s leading payment gateway to the next level (Amadeus Payments processes c. €100bn annually).
We’re a global, omni-channel, travel-integrated one-stop shop for our Travel Merchant customers inc. cards & APMs acceptance, fraud screening, EMV 3DS, tokenisation, checkout, pay-by-link all accessible via a best-in-class homegrown payment platform.
We’re looking to strengthen our offering (inc. frictionless payments and data services) and transition to a product first organisation, and to that end, we’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Product to professionalise our product management function.
In this role you’ll
· Spearhead the currently 5-strong Product Management team inc. formalising a product management practice, mentoring individuals to become ‘business’ product managers and recruiting new product managers
· Define, based on customer / market / competitor insight you will have gathered, the vision & strategy of your portfolio and of each product in it (both to evolve existing products and create new ones), and execute on that strategy to turn it into customer success
· Define, communicate and maintain the intrinsic value proposition of your portfolio and products
· Define and maintain the pricing
· Define cases for investment, be specifically responsible for the business case for our SAFe EPICS, make build/buy/partner decisions, make funding requests and manage your portfolio’s P&L
· Collaborate with key stakeholders inc. Segment Strategists (airlines, hospitality, travel agents, etc) to gather segment-specific requirements, Product Development (our team of POs) to define roadmaps and backlogs (we’re moving to SAFe), Payment Platform, Partnerships, Sales, Marketing
· Be responsible for product compliance of your portfolio to payment schemes’ rules and payment regulations (there will be a dedicated resource in the team to do this)
About the ideal candidate
· You’ll have experience in product management, managing a products team within a relevant B2B2C payment domain (PSP, Acquirer, Scheme, Large Merchant, …) and with at least regional (ideally global) responsibility
· You’ll have a ‘ready-to-use’ product management ‘toolkit’ / ‘practice’ to bring to the role
· You’ll be able to provide evidence of successfully evolving products and of successfully launching new products
· You’ll have experience in a fast paced, product centric environment
· You’ll have experience with product pricing
· A University degree at Masters level would be advantageous
· You’ll have experience in teasing out insight and articulating customer needs
· You’ll have experience in developing market and competitor data
· You’ll enjoy working in cross functional teams and situations
What we can offer you
