Human Resources Director / UK & EU - based in London / Hybrid
Our client is a global payments business, working with some fantastic merchants and customers internationally. As a high-growth scale-up, they are keen to hire a fantastic HRD to join the business & lead HR functions across the UK & Europe. This role will be critical to our success as we grow, as you will have the autonomy to influence & develop the culture, strategy and operational processes to deliver a world-class HR function.
Managing a small team of 3/4, you will take broad responsibility for around 200 people in our region. The role has several elements, including overseeing daily HR operations, working with regional leaders on local support strategies, developing employee engagement and improving & developing HR processes. About the role:
- you will execute HR strategies & oversee daily people operations for our team in the UK & Europe
- you will lead, manage, mentor, train & develop the HR team to become a high-performance unit
- you will work closely with local leadership teams, positioning HR as a commercially supportive function, planning on how you can assist them to achieve business goals through training, development, recruitment & succession planning
- focused on HR initiatives around talent, organisational development, employee engagement & operational excellence
- your work will also cover strategic workforce planning, payroll, compensation & benefits and compliance with local & regional legislation
- provide strategic leadership across the full spectrum of HR, implementing best practice programs & policies
- hands-on SME for the senior team, working to create a winning culture of learning & growth
About you:
- you're likely to have proven HR leadership experience gained in a start-up or scale-up environment, so you are used to (and excited by) a dynamic, fast paced environment in technology, payments or financial services
- with a strong & broad knowledge of HR principles & practices, employment law, compensation, payroll & benefits, you are able to operate as a hands-on leader
- strategic mindset with the ability to forward plan, utilising your excellent communication & influencing skills to achieve business outcomes
- data-driven decision maker, who can analyse & report HR data across the business
- change management & HR transformation expertise (HRIS implementations an advantage)
- background of leading & developing a HR team
- able to positively navigate complex, multi-location business whilst championing continuous improvement and cultural transformation
