Payments Acceptance  Relationship Manager  

 

Our client is a payments organisation seeking a

Technical Acceptance Lead responsible for leading and supervising all related technical acceptance enablement activities, leveraging a strong trend and root cause analysis approach, while orchestrating the required support from specialised partnering teams to achieve successful remediation and country acceptance health targets.

You must have good troubleshooting and technical understanding of payments.

Candidates from card schemes background would be nice to have

You will  work closely with external  clients  stakeholders and provide  regular updates, including challenges and wins to direct management and senior internal stakeholders.

You will manage all project activities and be the primary contact for issues and challenges arising from the merchants you are responsible for.

 

Ideally, you will have experience  from a scheme, or acquiring / acceptance, ensuring smooth and consistent deliveries, while understanding and fixing technical problems raised during payment checkout at POS terminals and ecommerce websites. Note these are not payment declines but are payment breakages.

 

You must have good presentation skills as you will be making presentations to managers and stakeholders

 

The role covers South American markets so Spanish speakers are preferred, though this is not essential


Day to day, you will :

  • Manage technical communications with client’s technical team, project team, customer service teams and senior executives
  • Provide technical support and consultancy while becoming the trusted point of contact for fixing technical acceptance issues
  • Proactively resolve client business & technical problems while showing strong leadership navigating the articulated business matrix, acting in complete autonomy
  • Support business development teams to expand acceptance in specific markets
  • Support market testing activities  with partners and lead remediation efforts
  • Proactively find gaps in  acceptance by reviewing historical transactions using data tools
  • Provide regular updates and reporting adapted to different levels of management on key metrics and objectives
  • Adapt overall remediation tactics and strategies to address challenges/issues/ opportunities
  • Execute department initiatives and ensure processes and projects are well documented to meet auditing requirements
  • Could have additional responsibilities for planning, directing, and coordinating activities cross functionally

 

To be successful in this role, you will need strong:  

  • Knowledge of the payment ecosystem, preferably from a scheme/acquiring background  
  • Experience managing card acceptance (technical remediation) from an operational perspective 
  • Knowledge of Excel, Trend Analysis and Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience of Power Point, proficient in delivering presentations
  • Relationship skills,  able to set and maintain great relationships with a portfolio of clients and multiple internal stakeholders
