Senior Account Manager  - Payments / Fintech  – France and Benelux – Paris

Our client is a global card scheme seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager with a track record of working with Merchants and/ or Payment schemes.

You will be supporting the company’s Merchant Network strategy by promoting card acceptance, recruiting high value merchants, managing key merchant accounts and ensuring operational enablement in France and the Benelux markets

You will liaise with merchants, acquirers, payment institutions, terminal vendors and third-party companies to build and maintain strong relationships with them.

Day to day you will :

• Establish and maintain partnership relationships with key merchants’ accounts directly and relevant Licensees to drive acceptance activity

• Manage the operational activities and relationships of the merchant recruitment team, eg. merchant recruitment, terminal issues resolution etc

• Build and maintain relationships with partners including terminal vendors, PSPs and other systems-related partnerships

• Liaise with London Headquarters to develop specific campaigns and promotions

• Support marketing partnerships with companies in France and Benelux markets utilizing their distribution channels to increase brand visibility

• Understand the acquiring market structure and the main players in each area

• Recruit merchants for card acceptance and manage key merchant accounts

• Prepare and submit reports on merchants’ operations activities and results to management

• Coordinate with the Head of Acquiring Sales for merchant deployment activities and recruitment of Acquirers.

• Provide induction training and on-going support to team members

• Provide administrative support to the business to ensure efficient and effective operation of the merchants’ operations and marketing function

• Travel within France, Benelux and London when required

• Comply with policies and procedures

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Experience in payment card Industry or financial services

• Demonstrable passion for sales and business development

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Good presentation skills, able to communicate clearly at all levels

• Commercial awareness

• Demonstrable creative and innovative ability

• Ability to make compelling presentations

• Ability to influence and sell ideas to diverse groups, in particular Tier 1 merchants.

• Proactive, sense of urgency and reliable

• Able to work alone and within a team

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and/or marketing

• Experience in team supervision

• Fluency in English and French
