Senior Full Stack Engineer
Node.js | AWS | Kubernetes | AI
Location: Remote in Europe, with preference for Poland, Cyprus, or Latvia
A high-growth fintech business is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale the next generation of digital payments and account infrastructure.
This is a chance to join a distributed engineering team working on modern fintech products across card issuing, digital accounts, and multi-currency transaction platforms. You’ll be part of a business that combines deep financial services expertise with ambitious technology delivery, creating secure, scalable solutions for a fast-moving international market.
You’ll work closely with senior engineering leadership and have real influence over architecture, tooling, and technical direction.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and improving cloud-native systems in a modern engineering environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex backend challenges, working across distributed systems, and exploring the practical use of AI within product development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and maintaining backend services in Node.js, including APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
- Designing and deploying applications in AWS, using services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, and IAM
- Working with Kubernetes for container orchestration, scaling, and deployment
- Designing and optimising PostgreSQL schemas for performance, resilience, and scalability
- Enhancing multi-tenant SaaS platforms with a strong focus on security and robustness
- Developing and integrating REST APIs across internal and external systems
- Implementing event-driven and asynchronous architecture patterns
- Integrating LLM and AI APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic to support intelligent product features including automation, summarisation, and analysis
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
- Collaborating with frontend engineers working with React and TypeScript
- Helping shape architectural decisions and driving continuous technical improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Around 4+ years’ experience in backend or full stack engineering
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js
- Strong knowledge of AWS, especially serverless and cloud-native architecture
- Experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Solid expertise in PostgreSQL, including schema design and optimisation
- Good understanding of SaaS architecture, scalability, multi-tenancy, and security
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous systems
- Experience working with LLM/AI integrations
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering workflows
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript
- Fluent English and Russian
- EU work eligibility
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, especially payments, wallets, card issuing, or ledger platforms
- Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes
- Knowledge of regulatory and security frameworks such as PSD2, DORA, or PCI DSS
