Role Summary


As Operations & Relationship Manager within Global Partner Operations you will be  responsible for managing the operational relationship with clients and providing excellent technical, service and project support to a portfolio of accounts. You will become a trusted partner of our client stakeholders by providing premier customer service and operational consultancy for business clients such as acquirers or issuers. You will also be project managing partner boardings, training clients on our tools and systems, leading operational projects to implement new products, releases and solutions, along with resolving escalated customer issues.


Our team has been growing and as such we have multiple roles at various levels. A more experienced candidate with leadership experience could have additional responsibilities for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for other team members.  Additionally there might be other internal high visibility departmental initiatives around process improvement that the role might support or lead


You will be responsible for:


·      Developing into a trusted point of contact for all operational matters with the key client stakeholders

·      Project managing the implementation of new partners on the Discover Global Network

·      Delivering pre-sales support to potential clients, including training client stakeholders and delivering workshops on tools and systems

·      Driving initiatives and projects focused on improving and resolving technical acceptance issues.

·      Implementing new network products (EMV, Digital, e-commerce, contactless, etc.)  and solutions with existing network partners. 

·      Managing technical communications with client’s technical team, project team, customer services team and senior executives

·      Proactively resolving client business & technical problems


You will possess:


·      Bachelor’s Degree, ideally business or technology related or Equivalent Experience

·      Operational, technical and client management experience within payments

·      Strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders

·      Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

·      Strong organization and resolution management skills

·      Able to prioritize and manage multiple parallel projects and issues

·      Client focused approach with the ability to interact across all management levels.

·      Desire to embrace change, successfully adapting to changing demands and conditions.


Preferred Qualifications


·       Cross functional knowledge and experience in the working of a card scheme ecosystem (merchants/ Acquirer/ Network/Issuers/ card members)

·      People leadership experience – for future development

·      Fluency in one of the following languages:  German, French, Spanish, or Italian.

·      PRINCE2, PMP or similar project management certification
