Our client is a successful card manufacturer, with an exciting portfolio of global banking clients. Focused on becoming the card issuing and management partner of choice for global banks and fin-techs, they are keen to strengthen their sales team with this hire, to work on both pro-active outbound sales generation, as well as management to incoming sales enquiries, RFP's etc. 

They are especially keen to find that blended background of technical & commercial experience, to engage clients and really understand the products being sold. The ideal candidate would also have a bright & positive attitude, a wide range of customer management skills and a history of technical sales success. 
 
The role:

This role is all about growing the company’s client list and delivering against revenue targets. Selling directly to banking clients, both established and emerging, or via channel partners, the sales process can be varied in complexity and length. It is important that the candidate can adapt their style and approach in line with the client’s requirements and can also build long term relationships across the industry to ensure that  we are the customers first thought for all card enquiries. As a strategic partner to international customers, we have an excellent track record in successfully delivering card programmes. 
 
Main purpose of the role:

  • Establish us as go-to card supplier for plastic & metal payment cards to channel distribution partners across the globe
  • Promote our full technical payments portfolio across both existing client base and to new leads
  • Self-generate leads and prospects to achieve new business revenue targets
  • Proactively respond to inbound enquiries, by scoping requirements and providing solution and cost proposals
  • Present products and services, prepare proposals, perform contract and pricing negotiation, close sale

Key responsibilities:

  • Open doors and present our technical and metal card portfolio to potential channel distribution partners across the globe
  • Identify and support opportunities to upsell technical and metal payment cards within existing customer base, including across our existing issuer/ processor channel partners
  • Identify new direct-to-client sales opportunities and strategise how best to win
  • Handover new contract sales to Technical Account Manager whilst remaining in touch with project through to completion to ensure a successful go-live
  • Write an annual Sales Plan, including goals, strategies, and actions
  • Forecast monthly new business and track against target and sales plan
  • Write and submit sales reports
  • Full tender responses – utilising internal support to ensure quality response and timescales are met
  • Participation in sales and marketing meetings
  • Keeping up to date with market/ industry trends and new products and feedback to company
  • Professionally representing the business, at external meetings, trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions 

Required skills:

  • Experience and evidenced success of technical sales, preferably within financial sector
  • Experienced in strategic sales planning 
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills
  • Excellent skills in selling, probing, and negotiating
  • Confident networker and socialiser, good team player
  • Natural Presenter, motivated, energetic self-starter
  • Demonstrable experience with a complex and technical sale process
